Assistance League Promotes Literacy by Providing Books and More
During the 2017-2018 service year, this program held book fairs in elementary and middle schools and provided 12,000 books to aspiring readers.

Assistance League Helps Women and Children in Shelters
Assistance League of St. Louis volunteers assemble 92 bags a month, each containing an outfit, underwear, socks and pajamas for mom and clothing for the kids---all to help women and children in crisis get through their first days in a shelter. In 2017-2018, Assistance League of St. Louis volunteers served 3,587 women and children in shelters. Since 2001, the organization has contributed to the well-being of 21,800 women and their children.

Assistance League Volunteers fit 3,500 Pair of Shoes in A Single Year
New athletic shoes are fitted on 3,500 St. Louis area school children each year by Assistance League of St. Louis volunteers who travel to three elementary schools in one day---all to give deserving children (grades K through 4) the latest styles and colors in athletic shoes. In a single school year, volunteers go to 37 schools in eight school districts.
