Sandy Brody was elected president of Assistance League of St. Louis (ALSTL) for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. Brody has been a member of ALSTL since 2016 and served on the board and in other leadership roles for the organization.
“I first became interested in Assistance League when they delivered winter jackets to one of my schools in Missouri,” Brody said. She worked as an elementary school teacher and school administrator for 31 years in Kansas, Missouri and Nevada.
She was impressed that ALSTL provided essential items to students who live in vulnerable zip codes, using volunteers to deliver services.
Brody says that her top priority for the coming year is to implement the newly adopted Strategic Plan for 2025-2029.
Brody has a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from the University of Southern Colorado, a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Kansas and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
ALSTL is a volunteer nonprofit organization that has been serving the St. Louis region since 1987, working with school districts and other partners to invest in student success and support families in crisis through five community programs.
